Western Australia State Nomination for Skilled Nominated Visa 190 provides you with five additional points towards meeting the Department of Home Affairs skilled visa points test pass mark of 65 points.

Skilled Nominated Visa 190 WA (Western Australia)

The Skilled Nominated 190 Visa is a permanent visa that allows you to live and work anywhere in Western Australia. To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the following of Department of Home Affairs requirements:

  • Have a relevant skills assessment;
  • Be under 45 years old;
  • Be nominated by a State or Territory, such as Western Australia;
  • Be able to score 65 points or more on the Department of Home Affairs points test. State nomination for the subclass 190 visa gives you an extra 5 points towards the Department of Home Affairs points test, which are automatically incorporated into your Expression of Interest;
  • Have the required English level; and
  • Have an occupation on the relevant occupation list (Medium to Long Term (Medium and Long‑term Strategic Skills List, Short‑term Skilled Occupation List).

Western Australian State Nomination for Subclass 190 Visa

To be considered by Visa 190 Western Australia for State Nomination, you must first lodge an expression of interest (EOI) in the Department of Home Affairs SkillSelect database. WA Migration Services invites eligible EOIs on a monthly basis to apply for Western Australian State nomination based on a ranking system. You can be invited through one of two streams:

  • The general stream, and
  • The graduate stream.

Overview of Ranking System for Subclass 190 Western Australia State Nomination

Each month, a set number of eligible EOIs are selected for 190 Visa Australia in SkillSelect based on the below ranking system. Visit the invitation rounds page for further information.

Applicants eligible for the General stream will be ranked in accordance with the table below:

  • Currently residing in Western Australia
  • Currently residing in another Australian state or territory
  • Currently residing offshore
  • Highest EOI points score
  • Oldest EOI submission date

Applicants eligible for the Visa 190 Australia Graduate stream (Higher education graduates) will be ranked in accordance with the table below:

  • Currently residing in Western Australia
  • Currently residing in another Australian state or territory
  • Currently residing offshore
  • Completed a PhD or Masters qualification in Western Australia
  • Completed a Honours degree or other higher degree in Western Australia
  • Completed a Bachelor degree in Western Australia
  • Highest EOI points score
  • Oldest EOI submission date

Applicants eligible for the Subclass 190 Visa Graduate stream (Vocational Education and Training VET graduates) will be ranked in accordance with the table below:

  • Currently residing in Western Australia
  • Currently residing in another Australian state or territory
  • ​Currently residing offshore
  • Completed a VET qualification at Advanced Diploma level in Western Australia
  • Completed a VET qualification at Diploma level in Western Australia
  • Completed a VET qualification at Certificate IV level in Western Australia
  • Completed a VET qualification at Certificate III level in Western Australia
  • Highest EOI points score
  • Oldest EOI submission date

If you are invited to apply for Visa Subclass 190, that means your EOI has demonstrated you meet a series of initial requirements. If you would like to accept your invitation to apply for WA State nomination, you will be required to provide further evidence to meet the State nomination requirements, as outlined below. If your application for State nomination is approved, you will be nominated by WA Migration Services in SkillSelect and automatically be invited by the Department of Home Affairs to apply for the Subclass 190 visa.
