Subclass 887 Visa Secondary Applicant English Requirement

Subclass 887 English Evidence of Secondary Applicant Above 18

The following are recognised as prescribed evidence of the English language proficiency for a secondary applicant who is atleast 18 at the time of:

(a) The person holds an award (being a degree, a higher degree, a diploma or a trade qualification) that required at least 2 years of full-time study or training; and all instruction (including instruction received in other courses for which the person was allowed credit) for that award was conducted in English; or
(b) The applicant provides evidence of having completed all years of primary education and at least 3 years of secondary education at educational institutions in which all instruction was conducted in English; or
(c) The applicant provides evidence of having completed at least 5 years of secondary education at institutions in which all instruction was conducted in English; or
(d) The applicant provides evidence of having achieved an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) average band score of at least 4.5, based on the four test components of speaking, reading, writing and listening in a test conducted:
· not more than 12 months before lodging the relevant application to migrate; or at the time of the processing of the relevant application to migrate; or
(e) The applicant provides evidence that he or she has successfully completed, in Australia, at least 1 year of full-time study or equivalent part-time study towards a degree, higher degree, diploma, or associate diploma, at an institution or institutions where all the instruction was conducted in English.
(f) The applicant provides evidence of having achieved a Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT) total band score of at least 32, based on the four test components of speaking, reading, writing and listening in a test conducted:
· Not more than 12 months before lodging the relevant application to migrate; or At the time of the processing of the relevant application to migrate; or
(g) The applicant provides evidence of having achieved a Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) overall band score of at least 30, based on the four test components of speaking, reading, writing and listening in a test conducted:
· Not more than 12 months before lodging the relevant application to migrate; or At the time of the processing of the relevant application to migrate; or
(h) The applicant provides evidence of having achieved a Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) overall score of at least 147 based on the four test components of speaking, reading, writing and listening in a test conducted:
· Not more than 12 months before lodging the relevant application to migrate; or At the time of the processing of the relevant application to migrate; or
(i) The applicant provides evidence that he or she is the holder of a valid passport issued by the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland, to a citizen of that country.

Skilled Regional Subclass 887 Visa Checklist

For all Applicants to be included in the application

1. Identity documents such as passport, birth certificate, proof of name change such as marriage or divorce certificate.
2. If you are or have been married, widowed, divorced or permanently separated, provide proof such as marriage certificates, divorce documents, death certificates, separation documents or statutory declarations.
3. Provide an overseas police certificate from every country, including your home country, where you spent a total of 12 months or more in the last 10 years since you turned 16, any military service records or discharge papers if you served in the armed forces of any country.
4. Passport size photographs.

For Primary Applicant

5. Proof of residence can include but is not limited to; leases or rental agreements, utility bills such as telephone, gas or electricity that show your home address(es), school reports, title deeds to your home or any other evidence that demonstrates you and any family members are resident in a specified regional area.
6. Proof of full-time work can include but is not limited to; employment references, Notices of Assessment, bank statements showing wage or salary deposits, superannuation documents, payslips, contracts or any other documents relevant to your employment history. The full time work of 35 hours can comprise hours worked in one or more jobs in each week.
7. Self or contract employment, proof can include but is not limited to; business activity statements, business registration, statement from your account, correspondence from customers and suppliers, audited financial statements or advertising and marketing material. The evidence should demonstrate that your self-employment activities required you to be active in the business for at least 35 hours a week.
